Well - it's been a long time since I got to the Weekly Inkling tutorial the day - never mind the week or even the month - that it was posted. An unexpected day off gave me time to try the Side Fold Card.
Super easy, and also very easy to adjust to metric card.
I used a black base and some Helz Cuppleditch paper (on the inside, too). I even dug out my old Basic Grey Notch and Die tool, and notched the edges of the side piece - but since I then added the star die-cut, I didn't really need the notches.
The resulting 4" working space was too small for a couple of my ideas, and since the star dies were on my desk in a "use this" pile, I went with that. I cut the side flourish and the middle layer from copper card, and a base layer and the ornamental top layer from gold. Embossed the copper layer with textile ef and buffed some green Craft-T rub-on over it. I used a copper eyelet in the centre, and also for the sentiment tag.
The panel inside has the other half of the sentiment stamped on a white square matted on black, along with Unity's "A Child is Born, and I stuck one of the spare copper stars on.

This is just spectacular and the copper/gold goes beautifully with your patterned papers. Embossing the stitched stars give extra texture and gives it the look of jewelry. The copper eyelets add another layer of detail that really makes this stand out. Just exquisite in every way!
