I wanted to try a BAJ page in Lamentations because I am trying to challenge myself to not just read and journal pages I have always loved but to do pages I avoid or never really got excited by. Mixed Media BAJ has made me fall in love with books of the bible that I have never given any attention. Lamentations was a speed read or gloss over for me at any time I read it and I thought it very boring. I have found out it is a VERY interesting book and it is very therapeutic when read during these times in the world - makes you appreciate that things are not as bad as they could be!
I wasn't sure how to do this page so I looked for inspiration in this week's challenges and found it in CAS612 - falling leaves and WT819 - dots. Also I saw this great page by kathinwesthill:
So I got out one of my favorite retired stamp sets, Natural Beauty, and created a fun way to highlight some of the words from these chapters.
Added in some birds as I am doing birds on all my BAJ pages this month to meet the **ART*JOURNAL*JOURNEY* bird prompt.
This was a super quick page I made early this morning - the paint is still well. Gesso added to the page, punched some circles out of watercolor paper, stamped them all randomly with the bg stamp and flower stamp in the set, glued them to the pages, added a wet wash of blue watercolor, dried the page, stenciled on some ink, stamped the butterfly, leaves, and birds, and did a fast watercolor on each. Then handwrote the words. Next I splattered on some leftover color. 40 minutes which is a little over CAS time for me but I did have to wait for that wash to dry.
Hugz and thanks for your visit

Inspired by you I occasionally look for Natural Beauty on eBay, but the shipping is a killer these days. And I have birds and leaves aplenty, it's just seeing your work . DH is very fond of Lamentations, in fact he's just finished reading it.
Favourited.

What a great way to get your interest peeked in pages in the bible that you have previously skimmed over Nancy. And the colors and leaves you used are wonderful. Thank you so much for playing along.
