I had to laugh when I saw the WCW challenge, to create plaids with watercolor. When I saw Misti's FF20 challenge to use buffalo plaid and I knew I didn't have much in that line, I wondered if I could paint a plaid. Nice to find out that I can. That was a great video, thanks, Linda. Someone used a gold checked paper for that FF challenge and I thought that a gold wc plaid would be nice. I used gold and copper wc and added some lines of brown.
Yesterday's WT was to feature a bird so I used the watercolor paper art part, sprayed it with DOx fired brick and vintage photo and then stamped with the Christmas text stamp. I used the soft suede on the wooden branch and dangled two white metal jingle bells on it for today's F4A. I love SU's new no-hole adhesive sequins, they're so pretty. Added 'joy' in the red metallic. I like simple sentiments for Christmas, which is why I use joy and peace a lot. One time I bought a box of Christmas cards because I liked the picture, never read the sentiment until I got them home, didn't like it at all. Too mushy and silly.
What does Jingle Bells mean to me?? A great song for kids, not really Christmas, more winter. I picture a lot of snow, me, feeling content, wrapped in a nice warm plaid blanket, knowing that a tasty hot drink is waiting for me, birds flitting through the trees, cardinals adding color to the scenery. I love antique bells that horses wore long ago, such a beautiful sound.
