This week the Tea Party is headed to Steve who has recently undergone a bone marrow transplant. His sister, Allison, is both his bone marrow donor and his caregiver throughout this long process. No easy task. So this card is for Allison. I love butterflies and I love the symbolism of butterflies as transformation. I hope Allison will be enchanted with this card, which also works for some other challenges.
One of the things I enjoy about AI is that you never know exactly what you will get. One of the things I don't like, is that when you get something you really like, you can't duplicate it. I really like this bg and I have been holding onto it for quite awhile now. But, it is time for it to be transformed and fly off to a new home. I stamped both the butterfly and the sentiment with Versamark ink and embossed with the corresponding colors. The blue is a bit dark, but legible, and matched the colors in the bg pretty well so I was pleased with that.
Earlier this week I CASEd this card from Featured Stamper Janemom (Jane) and it was the impetus for me to let go of this bg and the inspiration for the card design:
Shoe Girl (Lisa) challenged us in Ways to Use It, to make a silhouette card. And, OhMyPaper (Angie) challenged us in the Free For All to use the color blue.
I hope your day will be transformative and filled with moments of wonder and enchantment. TFL

Oh, I so agree about not being able to replicate backgrounds! I like to know that I can reproduce something I love, but that doesn't work with so many techniques. This one is beautiful, I can see why you held onto it, but it makes a fab background for the butterfly. The symbolism is perfect for hope and a future.

This is lovely Debbie and I know what you mean about the AI bg...they're all different. I think you saved this for just the right recipient....and I'm sure Allison will appreciate it.

Debbie, this is so beautiful in the awesome colors. I love the big butterfly, too. I haven't used my alcohol ink in a while but love it and look forward to using it again.
