Congrats to Mary, the newest Featured Stamper! So many lovely cards in here gallery & I chose THIS card to case. I kept the Christmas theme & making a poinsettia out of a leaf image, but I also used a real leaf to âprintâ the larger petals & only made one large poinsettia instead of many smaller ones.
I started w/ my die cut white panel & some real leaves I picked off one our Crape Myrtle trees. The shape reminded me of poinsettia petal, but these are a lot sturdier & easy to print. I "inked" the leaf & printed it 5 times for the larger petals, then used a rubber leaf stamp for the smaller petals. The splatter was stamped once w/ scarlet & again w/ gold ink & heat embossed w/ gold powder. I used a gold leaf Krylon pen around the edges, added the greeting & some gold gems in the center of my poinsettia.
Thanks so much for looking. It's on my blog w/ more details & pics of the process & leaves I used: The Write Stuff

Julie, this is gorgeous. What a beautiful explosion of color with the stamped poinsettia and leaves. The rhinestones look so pretty for the flower center and I love your use of the splatter background.

Loved reading about your process creating this beautiful Christmas cards, Julie. I'll have to check out our Crape Myrtle leaves after reading how you used them for printing!
