I made this card for my brother's MIL's upcoming birthday. I wanted something fairly simple, but not shabby, so I figured the Pleated Skirt Fold would fit the bill.
I couldn't find any double-sided patterned paper in my vast collection that I liked for the pleated part. So I dug through my stash, & found a single-sided one that's kind of an Impressionistic-looking floral-ish pattern. I found another pattern in my "green" files that has a green background with white dot circles on it. I have had both for years (literally!), and have no clue who made either. At any rate, I cut both papers to the initial size in the tutorial. I next cut the angled portion off the floral pattern, and adhered the circle pattern to the floral, back-to-back. Then I cut off the overhanging bit of the green circle pattern, so it matched the floral.
I scored & folded the pleats, and tacked them down just at the top portion with my ATG adhesive, so they would still have a bit of lift towards the bottom.
I adhered a scrap of purple cardstock to the lower right corner of my card base, and adhered the pleated panel in place, letting the purple peek out. I added a dot pattern from "Denim & Pearls" above the pleated piece, & adhered a strip of lavender cardstock over the seam.
I triple-stamped the base layer of the flower with Angel Pink, then used Ballet Slippers & Sweet Plum for the second & center layers, respectively. The center stamp ended up being a bear to try to position, and I messed up with its placement. So I tried going in the order on the guide sheet that Altenew put together for that set. I began with the center stamp, then added the second layer, then the solid one. It worked much better! So I may be on to something there with layering stamps.
I took a risk & stamped the greeting directly on my card front with Noble Fir ink. Thankfully it worked out the first time!
I die cut the floral image with a circle die, and die cut a scalloped mat from the remainder of the purple cardstock I'd attached to go behind my pleats. I glued them together, and die cut a piece of purple fun foam with the same (plain) circle die. I adhered that to the back of my image circle with double-sided tape, and popped it in place on my card front. I adhered my panel to a white card base, & that finished this card!

Andrea, this is a lovely card and one I may CASE. I think I may have made one of these pleated skirt folds, but I shall definitely do one. I love your colors and the nice layout with the sentiment. Once again, beautifully done, sweet friend! Hugs!
