Lyn is our hostess for the Technique Lovers' challenge this week and she is asking us to create our own stencil and then stamp through it. The challenge is HERE.
She created a background before adding her stencil and stamping. I just used plain white card and cut a stencil with four leaf dies. This is a rather random card, inspired by the fact that I was recently reading about crab-eating raccoons. OK, life isn't beautiful for most of us in reality right now, but overall, who can say that a world that contains crab-eating raccoons isn't intrinsically a beautiful world?
I decided to use little Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps and an array of autumnal colours to stamp through my leafy stencil, and I doodled a border and in the end also stamped a few single black tendrils.
The frame was sprayed with Brusho acrylic spray in a dark brown. When dry I painted the cloud and the words - they took up some of the spray colour, so after tha paint had dried I whitened them a bit more with a Posca Paint pen, and added gold to the "beautiful". The background is just a scrap of paper left over from making an envelope on Sunday.
As I said, this is a very random card. But I'll definitely try the challenge again with a more focussed plan.

This card is so fun!! I can testify to crab eating raccoons too. We went crabbing one night and left our crabs (we thought) securely in a crab trap overnight. In the morning, all of the crabs were gone and we couldn't figure out how they got out...until we saw the raccoon tracks. He had walked up the beach and visited every campsite.

You made me laugh, thank you for that! Yes, all creatures are important, although I had a family of raccoons in a shed one time, oh the smell. Love your background! Cute raccoon with the crab. Very creative!
