Jean is our hostess this week, and her TLC was a good one for me because I am not a fan of white EP. I love the look when other people do it, but it's not one I love to use.
The challenge, with a link to the tutorial, is HERE.
I started this last night. I knew there was a risk that the white EP would stick to my stamped angel, so I deliberately heat-set the ink. Evidently not enough, as soon as I added the white it stuck not only to my Versamark but also to large parts of the angel. So I started again, this time adding clear EP to the angel just to make certain.
I coloured her (him??) with distress inks, and added SN clear glitter to the wings and halo.
For the background, I used a falling snow stencil, and didn't manage to ink as much as I thought I had - but enough for effect. I sponged over it with DOX inks after masking the angel. Initially I just stamped a script stamp in dark grey ink, but after I added the sentiment (the WORLD is die-cut from some very hoarded IndigoBlu mixed media papers with antique maps on them), I thought I'd tie that in and stamped a Heartfelt Creations map in brown as well. After sticking the letters down for the sentiment, I outlined them with a black marker for emphasis, and drew a couple of lines underneath.
Fast forward to this afternoon and I've left washing the floors till tomorrow so that I could finish this in daylight. It made me think of icons and mediaeval paintings, so I added a layer of gold glitter card and then used a large card base. Dug out some old script paper, sponged the edges with vintage photo, walnut stain and soot black, and to add to the vintage look, stamped IO's Craquelure background in walnut stain.
Not my style, but I really like how it turned out. Thanks, Jean.

I Love both of your bg's, Sabrina! Your angel turned out beautifully with the bits of embossing on her; good choice to use the clear ep. (I see I'm not the only one who fought with this challenge!) Snickering...The part I like Best is the word World on your card! So glad you decided to add it and the map. Beautiful card~

Beautiful Angel, I didn( have any troubles with the EP sticking my versafine onyx black, that dries really quickly, I can imagine you were disappointed the first time, but the final result is so pretty!! I love the background and glitter frame too

You've achieved a wonderful old world, vintage style card! Your diecut sentiment from your hoarded antique maps mixed media paper looks so rich!
