I think this is my last 2017 Christmas kit that has been waiting for me to finish and modify with my own ideas, so I may be "begging off" Christmas cards for a while! Before beginning my finishing work on this card, I checked SCS challenges that needed catching up on. I found 13 challenges that it would fit, and they are as follows:
1) CCC20MAR -- Christmas Card Challenge/ Peace - 3/1/20. As I mentioned before, anything Christmas brings me an overwhelming sense of peace, especially if it depicting snow. Though not common in my area, we have had a few snowy Christmas Eves...just lovely!
2) F4A517 - Free 4 All Challenge/ Motivational - 1/17/20. Most Christmas sentiments are uplifting and joyfully motivational. The very best is the simple and traditional Merry Christmas! The exact sentiment of my card.
3) AOCC20 - All Occasion Card Challenge/ March - 1/1/20 (Annual). My goal is to do a minimum of 6 Christmas cards per month. This is one of my goal card.
4) USEIT2020 - Use It Challenge/ Use items long unused and gathering dust...old, old or new but old - Annual/ 1/1/20. My card is a 2017 Christmas kit waiting to be finished and modified with my additions. It uses old an old stamp and die set.
5) CAS565 - Clean & Simple Challenge/ Christmas Eve Traditions - 12/23/19. My card depicts our traditional church-going service on Christmas Eve.
6) ABC11V22 - Alphabet Challenge, Round 11/ Letter V - 7/31/19. My letter V is for village on a snowy Christmas Eve. Our church that we have attended for over 38 years is located in Black Diamond, WA an old coal mining town, found in 1880's, with a population of 4,781, but in 1982, it was only 1,170!
7) SCSCCJUN19 - SCS Dirty Dozen Christmas Challenge--June 2019/ Connect the Dots - 6/1/29. The dots on my card are in the form of a snowy sky.
WT737 - Ways to Use It Challenge/ It's A Whiteout - 4/25/19. The white I've used on my card is White Craft ink, which I've used to enhance the snowy sky on my card.
9) MMTPT554 - Teapot Challenge/ Make A Scene - 3/5/19. My card scene is a village scene on a snowy Christmas Eve night.
10) DINSP0918 - SCS Dirty Dozen Monthly Themes--September 2018/ Cutting Glass - 9/15/18. My card meets the theme with die-cuts for my snowy village scene and night sky die-cut border of moon and stars. Using the photo as inspiration, right off the bat, it reminded me of the old church, built in 1905, we attended for many years until our new one was built. The old, historical structure still stands and is well-preserved for weddings and other special occasions.
11) MIX284 - Mix-Ability Challenge/ Stars, Fireworks and Galaxy, Oh My! - 7/16/18. My stars were created with an embossing folder, a border die-cut, and white craft ink. Mediums: stamping ink; white craft ink.
12) FS577 - Featured Stamper Challenge/ Creating in Colors (aka Carol) - 2/25/18. Carol has a wonderful gallery that was so fun to browse. I chose her 12/19/18 card: Peace for its village theme. I kept her Christmasy village scene, but depicted without an image but using die-cuts instead.
13) IC638 - Inspiration Challenge/ Antique Farmhouse - 2/24/18. Here is my inspiration link: Holiday Church Wall Plaque
Ingredients: Stampin' Up Products: Cardstock--Whisper White, Misty Moonlight, Shimmery White. Stamps--Star of Light. Ink--Misty Moonlight, White Craft. Dies--Hometown Greetings Edgelits. Embossing Folder--Softly Falling. Size: 4-3/4 x 6 inches.
What a beautiful, peaceful scene! Thank you for the mention of a card I posted, and that it inspired you. I’m thrilled, and now you, in turn, have inspired me. When I’m making Christmas and winter cards, I always include some with the themes of peace and also the reason for the season.- Carol
