It's my turn to host the WTUI challenge this week - you can find it HERE.
For my first sample, I used lace in the creation of the card - the technique is described in the challenge thread. I used a lace mat, with dark blue and gold gliter on a double-sided adhesive sheet. I layered it behind a gold frame and added a TH Wildflowers stem cut from gold (two layers), and SUâs dragonfly dreams large dragonfly, cut from black card and painted with Pixie Powder, Stickles for the eyes. The under layer is a coloured clear cardstock from Michaelâs. I added a sentiment (TCP sentiment, SU punches) so that the base of the stem, layered under the frame, wouldn't look unsightly.

What a gloriously beautiful creation! I will have to try the glitter thing, although I'm not sure how adding the second color helps you burnish the first. I will experiment on a small piece. I love that dark blue with the color of your cardstock, which has nice subtle texture. when you do a really great background, all you need is a diecut and small sentiment.
