Alright...let this work be a cautionary tale regarding the abuse of Stickles.
And a tale of addiction.
That's right. I said it.
My name is Carmen and I am addicted to Stickles. I am powerless over Stickles and my life has become unmanageable.
After painting with the color changing paint and doing the stamping, I thought the stars and the rhinestone cap (along with the actual feather in her hair!!) was kind of nifty. I also liked the cool look of the platinum along the sides.
It's too bad so sad that I couldn't have just left it there. But I let my addiction take hold and I decided it made perfect sense to add a little sparkle to her lips and eyes.
When you're dealing with a larger image, you can actually use Stickles like makeup and it looks great! On the other hand, when applying Stickles to an image sized to fit an ATC card, you'll find they come out as blobs and make your figure look like they are possessed by Beelzebub. Therefore, you have ruined your entire work of art in less than 3.3 seconds.
So be warned, my friends. Take this tale and commit it to memory and heart. Nothing good comes from art supply addiction. It will take all your money and time. It will ruin your eyes, give you carpal tunnel and leave you at risk for tetanus via paper cuts and frequent stabbings with paper piercing tools and mixed media scissors. Then, there are the aforementioned Stickles that I somehow injured myself with by getting them into my eyes and ending up in the ER (which was an uncomfortable situation, although my eyes glittered beautifully for days after).
It's dangerous, this crafting. In fact, the more I think about it, I believe it's safer just to give it all up.
Oh, who am I kidding? Give it all up? When I have so much fun annoying the Marital Unit and the three y-chromosomes I gave birth to by using so much glitter that it cycles through the air filters and forms a fine layer on their clothes?
Could I abandon the sheer fun of going into a detailed explanation of the alcohol and distress ink (of which the Marital Unit gets that panicked look on his face-he HATES when I start explaining craft items and their uses to him...it's my revenge for when he does it to ME when he talks about bloody golf!) that I HAD to have because I'm a Dirty Girl and I had to host a challenge for DTGD2020? When none of my challenges used neither as a primary "ingredient"?
Not that he needs to know that, of course.
No, I'm not giving it up. Besides, I haven't even listed the most IMPORTANT reason for not quitting...
It's like a tell the Marital Unit. You might not like the cost, you might not like the mess, you might not like the time I give to it.
But it sure beats me sitting in a cell for manslaughter now, doesn't it?

This is wonderful, Carmen! I also have a love affair w/ stickles...I do believe I have a bajillion colors of the stuff & some colors, more than one. I also have a fear of running out of my fave colors. OK, the glitter eyes may be a bit over the top, but she's a babe & I'm pretty sure she can handle it. I LOVE your bg.
