This cards if for the Try a New Technique challenge. I had 70% rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle and also used the rubbing alcohol neat as I wasn’t getting the desired effect.
I think the secret with this technique is to definitely get your paints as thin as possible. Once I had painted my 3 colours on, I went over them with a wet brush to take off some colour. Each colour was painted individually although on this card I chose to paint the pink in the centre with the blue on both edges and then layered the pink and yellow again.
When it was finished I could clearly see my circle rings and it looked pretty cool but once it was dried (which you must do naturally) the rings seemed to have disappeared so out came my white pencil and I drew around them. That’s where they should have been.
Die cut added, wink of stella too and done.
Great technique and easy.

I'm so relieved to find that I'm far from the only one who struggled with this. I agree on the thin paints - but even at that, when they're too thin they don't actually properly cover the layer underneath. Doodling the rings back in looks great.
