I've just recently become aware that we now have a Watercolor Wednesday challenge here at SCS. I have not done much watercoloring on my cards and am interested in learning.
I tend to be a fast stamper, plan it out and get it done (!) - so I can see that I need to learn to slow down if I'm going to watercolor!
Thanks Kia for the wonderful white daisy video you linked for us for today's challenge. I learned a lot - particularly that I don't have any natural skills in thinking about where the light is coming from and how that translates into how I shadow etc!
I hand drew my flower with a pencil.
I'm pretty happy with my card for a first try - but can see I need to learn a lot more about achieving depth, especially on my white petals! My favorite part of my daisy today is the center of it!
I look forward to learning more about water coloring each Wednesday!

Beautifully done and I love the center, too, with the pretty sheen on it. I am so happy you found the challenge and joined us this week. Watercoloring is sooooo much fun.

Fantastic take on the challenge, Julia. Your colors are so soft and translucent. Love how you let the light in on the center. Glad you found the video informative. Happy you found this challenge, and will be looking forward to seeing your work in the gallery. Warning....this watercoloring becomes additive. TFS
This is beautiful! There is just something about watercolor, isn't there? The practice is so soothing! Your flower is gorgeous. Funny, but that was my first struggle with coloring anything when I became a stamper, "where do the shadows go?". I think you did a beautiful job adding shadows and your background is gorgeous!

Your hand drawn daisy is lovely and the center is very nice with the white highlight. You got a lovely blending of colors. I found that rather difficult in my darker colors.

So glad you found your way to the watercolor Wednesday challenge with this beauty, Julia! Isn't it so fun that we can all learn to watercolor together?

Beautifully done Julia. Your daisy is a delight, so well done and your background colours flow so nicely and have a translucency to them. Great job Julia. So happy you found the challenges. I think you will enjoy these challenges, but yes, slow down and enjoy the process. It is so relaxing.

Beautiful job on that daisy - and I like the bright wash of colors in the bg - excellent work on that flower center - lots of interest there in a small space.
