This is the close-up of a card #16 of approximately 50 hand-stitched cards that I made, giving 44 of them to my Mom in January, 2019, and I used most of the few others, sending and giving to family and friends. It had been my desire for several years to find a way to make cards with some sort of hand-stitching on the cards to make them extra-special for my Mom, who is a master cross-stitcher. When I watched a YouTube video tutorial by Jennifer McGuire where she introduced a hand-stitching die, and she showed some basics on how to stitch, I was excited, thinking that I had found a way to make some cards for my Mom that incorporated her love of stitching. Originally, I planned to make her 80th birthday card plus make perhaps 10 to 12 cards. But I only managed to finish one card for her birthday before flying to the east coast of Canada, but I told her that a set of these hand-stitched cards would be forthcoming. It was another year until I was able to take a set of cards to her, and instead of 10 to 12 cards, I decided to make as many as possible, and I carried with me on the plane in my carry-on bag a boxed set of 44 hand-stitched cards in A2 and A7 sizes with a variety of sentiments for the occasions I thought that she would likely want to send or give cards the most. I made a number of birthday cards, and I found that this Sizzix "happy birthday to you" die-cut seemed to work quite well on these cards with hand-stitched patterns.
I haven't seen this pattern of stitches used on hand-stitched cards, but I have used it quite a lot in a couple of ways, this is what I call a lattice stitch, and it became a favorite stitch on these hand-stitched cards. There may be an official name, but this is what I call this stitch pattern, a lattice pattern of hand-stitching.
I really like the combination of bright pink and bright green, it's very fresh and vibrant, and I liked how it came together on this card. I used Gina K Designs Passionate Pink cardstock, I love her cardstock and I highly recommend it! I embossed a knitting pattern embossing folder on both the pink cardstock as well as the bright green envelope, which I believe is also from Gina K Designs. I really love her A2 envelopes, and I also really like Simon Says Stamp A2 envelopes, especially their metallic envelopes. I really hope that one or both will bring out envelopes for A7 cards in some beautiful colors, please?!
Thank you so much for stopping by to take a closer look at my card. When you take the time and the trouble to leave a comment, it really touches my heart and it makes my day.
Please stay safe and please stay well especially during this very uncertain and very unusual time.

Joanne, these colors are Oh So Fun together! I feel like they are in the bg of the sentiment singing that Happy Birthday song because they are so bold, bright and beautiful and nothing can hold them back! Ok, maybe I just got a little carried away with my thought pattern, but I do love these colors. They speak to me. Thank you for sharing your love of cross-stitching with us~
