Today's two challenges combined into a fun card! It's almost Dawn's birthday, so she challenged us to make birthday cards. Happy birthday, Dawn! And Dina challenged us to celebrate National Avocado Day by using the color green and some brown circles. Would you believe I don't actually have an avocado stamp? I know. Crazy. Fortunately, my new friend, Gini, does and she had stamped some for me. I got her addicted to Lawn Fawn and she keeps buying stamp sets and stamping them for me. But I do have two toast/toaster/breakfast sets, because puns. So this is kind of a combination of all three here. I used my ScanNCut to cut everything and colored them up. Then I decided that the toaster needed a face, so I added that. To get the brown circles in, I grabbed a piece of avocado colored paper--it's actually the inside of an old commercial greeting card--and sponged Peeled Paint on the edges in the spirit of the MIX challenge. Then I grabbed a Ranger circle stencil and Desmond's liquid watercolors. Yes, Desmond has liquid watercolors and I don't. He bought them for himself at Hobby Lobby. The kid loves that store. I used them more as acrylics than watercolor, because you know I don't know how to watercolor, nor did I want to. I only filled in some of the circles to space out my avocado pits. Topped it off with a good pun. I sure had fun with this one.
