For today's Tea Party we are celebrating the invention of nylon and the 80th birthday of Snietje's Mum! What a fun tea party! I hope you'll join us!
Jacqueline is our hostess and she mentioned fashion in her write up, so I decided I wanted to use some cut up nylons for my card. But when I looked in my drawer I realized that I threw them all away because I hate them. So I had to sacrifice some of my knee highs. I have three different colors, so I took one of each and cut them into strips, then I layered them over a piece of kraft cardstock in a woven style. Then I picked out some of my most fashionable ladies. This knee high background is so thick. It took me a bit to figure out how to put it on my card. Ultimately, I framed it with foam strips and this became a 5 x 7 card. While I was looking for a way to frame it, I found this discarded white piece from the ScanNCut and I thought it looked pretty cool. But it was too small to frame the thing, so I cut another bigger piece of brown for a bigger frame. Then I got to use my Dutch greetings stamp set!! And I stamped Van Harte Gefeliciteerd all over the frame. Now I just have to figure out how to mail this monster of a card to The Netherlands today. Happy birthday to Annie!!

WOW Jen...you surely captured it all - great card. Love your background stamp and Annie will love it too...I think she'll be surprised when she notices it came from the States. I'm with ya on the hose...I threw all my panty hose out almost 20 years ago since moving to NC. I think I may have worn them once to a wedding 11 years ago. HATE them!

Who has nylons anymore?? My leftover ones are used as lint catchers for my washer! You really took this to heart using 3 different nylons on that middle piece...very impressive. And who has Dutch greeting stamps? You again...unbelievable! Annie is going to be bowled over with this fabulous card!
Wow! I enjoyed your story of your process as much as looking at your creative card! Now , who just happens to have Dutch stamps in their stash? Great birthday card and I am sure she will appreciate it!

Wow, you have a dutch stamp set. How cool is that. A lot of love and thought went into this and it shows. Even sacrificing your knee highs which look amazing here. Your two fashionistas look cool. Love the glitter quote!

You are so super creative. That woven nylon panel is fabulous. Love the fashionista girls on the front. But, of course, the coup d'grace is the dutch stamping! Wow.

You had a Dutch greetings stamp set! How perfect. And what an amazing and clever idea to use the nylons, or rather knee-highs to make that amazing background. It must feel amazing. I don't like either of them, they make my legs feel itchy, so they only come out when they have to. I like your double framing with that fun white piece.

Smiling because I'm betting neither of those modern looking women on your card would be caught wearing nylons . . . hence the woven use of nylons in the background. lol Your woven piece makes me think of the the loomed hot pads we made as kids using nylon loops . . .
