I made this card for 2 challenges. The first challenge is for this week's Alphabet Challenge. Ann is our hostess and she has chosen the letters OW for this week's challenge. The O part of this challenge was a cinch for me, but adding in the W was a challenge.
The 2nd challenge this card fits is the Inspiration Challenge. Angie is our hostess and she has chosen a company called, "Eye on Design" for our inspiration. As soon as I saw this cool piece of art, I had my OW card: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/695032154979422140/. What I loved were the colors and how this piece drew me in.
I made these multi-step tulips at a friend's house before COVID-19 was even known about. I brought the tulip die die cut home and put it in my file for "someday." Today turned out to be "someday." The artwork I chose has a very blue eye so I chose to use blue for the background to really highlight the orange flowers.
The cloudy sky piece is made with Tim Holtz distress inks, sprayed with water and then smashed. I have never tried this exact technique before and it is really fun to do. I need more practice, but it is quick and easy.
Assembled the card and stamped the sentiment. The OW's in this card are for orange and for wishing and the watery blues used too.
Thank you Ann and Angie for the great challenges this week and thank you for looking too! ~Karen.

Those tulips are so pretty. Blue and orange just work so well together. Your OW card turned out great based on that inspiration piece. Love that triple twine bow to finish it off!
I imagine it was bittersweet working with these flowers. Fun memories but sad also that you can't be with your friend. The card is gorgeous. Beautiful colors. The flowers grabbed my attention!

You used my favorite flower....the tulip. The orange and blue is great together. I sure hope you can see your friend again soon. I feel so blah not getting to be around people. It's killing me! Love your beautiful card.

I would say your watercolor paper counted as an extra W as well. Such pretty tulips. Orange is my favorite color so orange and oval worked perfect for your O.
