For Shelly's VSN Challenge Crescendo - to use increasing tone in a watercolor wash background.
I have not done this for a while so it was a great refresher in how easy it is to create a backdrop. I dampened my watercolor paper. I tapped my Mint Macaron ink pad on an acrylic block and used a wide water brush to swipe on the ink.
This is the first time I used the stamp set and just eyeballing the two-steps for the flowers and stem. Added some pearls around and used Wink of Stella on the flowers & leaves. Stamped sentiment in neutral Soft Suede. Layered on Calypso Coral and Petal Pink card base.
Fun challenge. Thanks for looking!

I have this SU stamp set too, I think and I need to ink it up for the first time too. I love this, SO beautiful is that gorgeous flower, and I love how you have inked or watercolored the background so that the top of the page is lighter, gradually getting darker in green at the bottom of the page, it's very effective against your beautiful flower. The stitched detail on the focal layer adds a distinctive touch, it's a favorite for me as well. This is lovely!!!

Thank you so much for leaving that very thoughtful comment on my Early Rainbow Rows hand-stitched card. I know these are not the usual cards most people upload, and they were new to me when I worked on the 18-month stitching project as a special gift for my Mom. I am now stitching some pieces to make into cards for myself, and I am doing a giant reorganization/purge of my crafting supplies, so no time to create except for special cards, but I look forward to getting back to playing with ink and stamps ASAP. Thank you again for that very kind and encouraging comment.

Even though the design is simple, it is still so beautiful. I love the ombre painted background. I still have that stamp, so now I may have to pull it out again.
