I made this card for VSN challenge: "Summer of 1968" by Jeanette. The song I chose was, "Young Birds Fly" by The Cryan Shames. It was top hit #44 on Chicago's WLS radio station. I used to listen to that station back in the day on my little transistor radio.
The first verse says, "What's wrong with Mary?" And I think the chorus can be applied to the crazy times we're living in now (I'm sick of the term "new normal" by the way.)
"Young birds fly in early spring
Learn new songs to sing
And each song they know can help them to grow.
Mary questions everything she's ever known before"
I think we'd all like to sing again!
This card was made from some beautiful Graphic 45 paper and then, I added Stickles gold glitter and the "Friend" symbol, stamping and heat embossing in black on red card stock.
I cut out parts of my paper to create the background and layered the main image onto gold paper. I used 3D pop dots to pop up the different panels.
This card is being sent as a "tickle" for the Teapot Challenge, also. tfl

WOWEEEE!!! This is absolutely GOR-JUS!!!!! I've had a special cranny in my heart for the Graphic 45 papers for awhile now. You have put together a Fantastically Amazing layout here. The amazing busy-ness of all the different papers has flowed together just perfectly and presents with such a feeling of peace. Can't say "Amazing" enough. It really is. Thank you!

Beautiful card Gracie...I would love to have a print like that framed in my living room. Maybe if I get your card I could frame it....hehe. I vaguely remember the Cryin Shames but not that song....we used to try and get WLS sometimes, too, at night I think. And I'm with ya on "new normal"...it can go along with "these challenging times"...

WOW! What a gorgeous card - love the Asian features. That great paper is so rich! I'm not familiar with the song you chose either, but like you said, the words sure fit today. Thanks for jamming with me in the Summer of '68 VSN Challenge!
