I typically don't use as many dies on a card as I did today, but I loved these Spellbinder dies, especially this window. This is for yesterday's tea party, Eastward Bound, and today's sketch, loosely.
I cut the wave background out of a piece from my stash, vellum with alcohol inks painted in stripes. Mounted it on gold mirror, added some white glitter for foam on the waves (and to cover some glue marks, since I never think to use some kind of double sided sticky stuff on vellum. I cut the window/door from a piece from a watercolor book I bought at Target for my granddaughters. The whole book has white pages with flowers, butterflies and gold accents, one simply paints the page with watercolors and the images resist the paint. I intended to use it for the spring VSN, hoping it would fit but I never did. The lanterns are cut from another background done long ago, using a gel plate, some ai, some acrylic, some tea and baking soda. I forget the name of the technique (I think it's UnderstandBlue), but I had a great time making the backgrounds and there is actual tea on this card, which gives nice texture. I thought they needed a bit more so I covered them with the iridescent medium for some shine.

Wow! Your Tea Party card is a real feast for the eyes Jean! I am always impressed by all the techniques you use on your cards and how they still have a terrific design to them (because I would have mush if I did that). This card has a true tea house feel to it, and the colors are magnificent. You are going to make some tea party gal VERY happy indeed with this showstopper of a card. ~Karen.
