I cut the card base from white cardstock measuring 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Then I measured, scored and folded it at 4 1/4". I stamped the little dog and the ball three times and then colored them with copic markers. Using the Love For Paws Stencil and Memento Tear Drop Inks I created the front panel. It wasn't the easiest to stamp the paw prints & hearts in different colors, but I managed to do it. I cut the ovals using two different oval dies. Using the Puppy Love Stamp I stamped the sentiment & paw print on the white oval. I made stitch lines on the white and black ovals using a white jelly roll pen and a black pen. Then, I glued the two ovals together. I attached the front panel to black cardstock to create a shadow effect, then attached them both to the card base using a Gina K Designs Tape Runner. I attached the dog and ball to the card base using foam tape so they would stand out. I stamped "Miss You" using Versamark Ink on the card, then heat embossed it using Black Wow Embossing Powder. It looked terrible so I made the decision to hand cut a small banner from white cardstock. I used a black pen and added stitching. With Memento Tuxedo Black Ink I stamped "Miss You" on the banner, then attached it to the card covering the failed embossing. Luckily, it hid the mistake.
I made the card for my six-year-old great-grandson who's six hours away. Hopefully he'll like it.
