This wasn't difficult, just time consuming, which is why I may never be a watercolorist. Too impatient! But I'm determined to persevere, if only to improve my patience.
The partial circle in the upper right used the scrape painting technique. I wasn't very careful, too much paint, couldn't find my nice acrylics so used craft paints, TOO MUCH PAINT!!!!! The background is stripes of Distress ink in coffee colors.
I stamped the cups with the Distress linen, although I'm not sure that those lines truly disappeared. I tried to cover them with shading. My watercoloring will always be pretty loose, not perfect, a little goofy. I like goofy. Added a little bit of gold gel pen to some details. I did have a lot of fun with this card.

Ooh, awesome cups and card. You make me want to buy some cup stamps and make them just like yours. I knew you would rise to the occasion. You, of all people, cannot be intimidated over a challenge. Good work and I really like your scrape painting.

Beautiful colors, Jean! I love the paint scraping on the circle element. I thought about this technique when I saw the sketch, but shied away from it...so glad you used it for the sketch!

oh, yes, a loose watercolorist...sounds just right to me! And I love this vibrant card. Love the scrape painting panel turned into a saucer. Love the colors, and the sparkle, and the message...yep, I love EVERY little thing about this delightful card. I'll lift my cuppa to you at dinner time.

This looks like a painting that should be hung in a coffee shop. Love your watercoloring. I'm glad you are having fun, and the more you do it, it will become second nature. Fav'd Happy you joined us this week. TFS
