This version is there to show the envelope which has been embossed on the rectangular flap with Cuttlebug Kitchen Weave embossing folder. I have been struggling to find good-quality 5 by 7 envelopes in various colors, especially like the beautiful metallic A2 envelopes I buy at Simon Says Stamp, they are the SSS brand, which I love. If anyone has some good sources for those larger envelopes, I'd be very thankful!
All of the patterns that I have uploaded and color combinations have been my own. I have made 2 hand-stitched pieces that I made into cards that I copied the patterns, if I upload those, I will acknowledge my source.
This is the 2nd of 50 hand-stitched cards that I made in an 18-month period, 44 of those were given as a special set of hand-stitched cards to my Mom, who is a master cross-stitcher, and she's also a very talented artist in quilting and knitting to name but a few of her artistic talents. I had been searching for a few years to find a way to incorporate hand-stitching or even to simulate that look onto cards for my Mom, and when I saw a YouTube that Jennifer McGuire made introducing the Paper Smooches stitching die and how to hand-stitch onto cardstock, I knew that I had found the way to create the cards I had wanted to make for my Mom for so long. So, I didn't waste any time ordering the die and I got started once it arrived. I made cards from all of the hand-stitched pieces I made, so they vary in quality in the actual stitches and the patterns, for I was learning as I was doing. As Jennifer McGuire says, this is a very relaxing activity that I have come to really enjoy. These cards take quite a bit of time to create, they are definitely not fast cards but I was making very special cards for my Mom, and likely this will be the largest set I ever make of very time-consuming cards to create, but it was an absolute joy to create them for my Mom. Her reaction when she opened up the large box of the 44 assorted cards (assorted types of sentiments) and envelopes in A2 and 5 by 7 size more than made all of the effort and all of the time worth it, for she was very pleased and very complimentary in her reaction to my work. She knows stitching SO well, and I am a rank beginner and completely self-taught (my mother lives on the other side of the country from me, so it wasn't possible to get some stitching help, plus I really wanted to make these on my own and see how I could do), but she really liked the patterns and color combinations as well as my stitches in general, which made me very happy. Hopefully I will continue to improve as I continue to stitch on cardstock, it's something I truly enjoy doing.
Thank you for stopping by to take a look at this view of my hand-stitched card, I truly appreciate it. When you leave a comment, know that it absolutely makes my week!

I'm in awe of these cards, Joanne. Reading your deets, they were made from the heart. Anyone receiving one will cherish it. Your choice of colors are so rich, and every stitch is perfect. You are doing it on such a tiny scale...just amazing. Fav'd. TFS

These are so special and I know you were very pleased that your mother loved them so much. Yes, so time consuming, but so worth it. Wonderful color combo on this one.
