Indeed, let's Celebrate June, as Cathy challenged us in the Ways to this middle of the month! And as my title suggests, I just happened to have a Cicada and sentiment waiting in the wings...
Did you know that
Cicada wings are transparent? They have a very interesting lifecycle and a ways of making 'music'! My cicada was stamped onto mixed media paper with the 'Fall Leaves' VersaClair. I stamped the wings again and embossed with an aqua ep. I then stamped a third time onto Vellum for a transparent look. The body was colored with Copics and the eyes were created with Glossy Accents.
The sun was sponged and the sentiment was placed on top. I decided to use trim on the top and bottom of my card. This was part of a fun bit of swag I received from Kim (berylcece), thank you!

Wow, look who had the real cicada stamp and that matching sentiment as well. Amazing. I love this and that sentiment speaks real words of wisdom and the amazing wonders of God.

So true about the noise. It's one thing that puts DH off camping in the south of France, though I think I found a nightjar worse. It's amazing the volume they produce. Your cicada is amazing, and reminds me so much of the ones I used to watch hatching - ugly, amazing and beautiful all in one.
