I don't know how to craft a handmade card that isn't COLORFUL so I gave these chickens some personality and stuck to bright colors in shades of reds and yellows, with my favorite colored pencils. To add texture, I layered some corrugated cardstock and kraft cardstock as a landing place for my chickies. That sentiment is stamped on the Pinked Stitched Sentiment Banner. The background panel began yellow and green inks rolled out on the Gel Press. After pulling a print, I stamped the dotted background in yellow. I'll be honest, before I stamped the dots, this print had just been laying around and I thought it was pretty ugly. It was probably destined for the garbage, but the dots really pulled it together. I like the way the green twine bow complements the hints of green in the background. The pinked yellow circle ties the image together - and maybe hints at a sunrise or sunset in the background? Super fun and playful. Perfect for National Poultry Day today! Just saw that is the theme for today's SCS Mix-a-bility challenge. We have 3 chickens so I always like the chicken cards!
