Where has the week gone and its time for the second Water Colour challenge.
I just love seahorses - they are just so dainty and pretty in their under water world. I can remember many years ago collecting these little creatures when on holidays at the beach. Perhaps I should say that I collected their little bleached bodies that washed up on shore near the rock swimming pool at Ulladulla. It wasn't till much, much later that I got to see live one and I am still fascinated by them.
I stamped the seahorse image on water colour card using Archival ink. I taped the card down on my glass mat with painters tape. This stops the card buckling when you add water and holds it nice and still for you to dry as you go. I smooched the Adirondack inks onto a large acrylic block and watered the colours down till I got the shade I needed. In real life the background is so much more colourful with different shades of aqua and blues with a touch of yellow. But as always my computer hates anything that has aqua in it and instead insists making all things aqua to a dull shade.
I coloured the seahorse a second time and fussy cut it out and layered it up on top. Added lots of sparkles and some seaweed along the bottom and a little companion in the corner.
Hope you enjoy my water coloured seahorse.

Beautiful card Helen. I love the BG you created and your tiny seahorse at the top left is perfect on the BG. Your large seahorse is coloured beautifully. Thanks for all the tips. Happy day and keep well.

Fabulous! This is beautiful, Helen, May have to CASE it. When I was young my Dad had sea horses and they had babies. There was a 30 gallon saltwater tank and everyone who visited our home were in awe of the seahorses.
