Well I have been hanging out at the Vera Lane Facebook Page ever since I fell in love with Susie Australia's card and wanted to try some backgrounds with stencils. Here's the link to Susie's fabulous card: MMTPT614 Mary Delany by susie australia at Splitcoaststampers
So, here is where I landed for an early attempt. I ink blended the four colors of DO onto Neenah. I cut the mandala out of acetate and then used a baby wipe to bleach out the pattern. Then I used a stencil that came with a Stampendous stamp set to make dots and squares. Colored the bird with Copics and fussy cut; but, as usual, I clipped off its antennae. I used pieces from a stamen for artificial flowers to replace my goof. I had die cut the heart in the middle intending to pop it up, but couldn't get the birds and sentiment where I wanted them so I just glued it flat. I like that I still got the heart impression behind the bird, though.
The sentiment was computer generated using Snott 2000 font (I might have uploaded this card just so I could type that font name...LOL). After I cut the squares, I ink blended the Raspberry DO onto the cardstock. Glued everything down. Done. This card is for the Cards for a Cause June Mission which is an animal humane society in WI.
TFL. Hope you are having a "tweet" day.

How terrific is this!!! Debbie it looks like you had a big smile on your face the entire time you were making this. Love your blending and stenciling (way to go girl with creating your own). Fun layout and genius antennae. Loved your write up too.

Debbie, this is just amazing! I am so thrilled for you that you are venturing into "Susie territory" my friend (which is very brave in my humble opinion) and you did a terrific job too! I absolutely love this wonderful butterfly/bird and I adore the colorful background you created for it too. Your stenciling is so soft and pretty and adds wonderful texture too, but oh my, the name of this sentiment is way too funny Debbie! Gosh, I am going to be chuckling about this for a few days now. Ha! ~Karen.
