What an amazing two hours I have had. I watched the vidio on the Watercolor Wednesday thread and then married this to the Teapot Tuesday challenge for this week. to make a card for Sandy who loves flowers and the colours pink and purple.
Using the YouTube vidio I layed down the background. I found using an A5 sheet protector was easier than using a sheet of acetate as it was more flexible.
I stamped the image onto this background then started to highlight and build the image using a watercolour mop brush and picking up the ink from the grease-proof paper I had used.
I then loaded the smaller mop brush with water and picked up the Lucky clover ink and did the leaves.
Once this was done I dried the images and then went around the image with Wilted Violet washing it out as I went. I have a few blooms but I think I can live with them.
Next I re-stamped the image onto a post it note and then flicked Shaded Violet over the whole card....and my desk and anything within a five foot radius, ho hum.
I was still not happy with the depth so went around the edges with Candy Apple Distress ink the same way I had originally done the body of the card, picking the spritzed ink up with the A5 sheet protector then laying it down on the card.
The rest is pretty straight forward, I stamped the greeting in India Ink (I have discovered a long time ago that StazOn doesn't transfer easerly onto watercolour paper or oxide inks or acrylics for that matter.)
I layered the card added the sequins and then the Nuvo drops and finally after tea with DH did the inside.
Thanks so much for looking and happy stamping.

Marg, I can see you had fun with this card.....even with the Shaded Violet being flicked all over the place. Your colors are gorgeous and I love the centers of your flowers and the pretty sequins. I am really happy you joined our first w/c challenge.

Gorgeous background and flower. You really nailed both challenges. I laughed about the ink flicks everywhere because I seem to have that same malady. This card is such a beauty. It's sure to brighten Sandy's day. I think she will have a beautiful garden in her house when this challenge is done.

What a fantastic background, Marg. Two hours! I'm glad I was realistic and realised that work wouldn't let me get "into" a new challenge, much as I'd love to. We went to the Botanic Gardens yesterday and DH was so disappointed because we'd missed almost all the azaleas and all the rhododendrons. There are some fab pink and purple ones there, and your wonderful purples remind me of the less hybridised ones.

Very very pretty Marg. I laughed when I read about the flicking everywhere. I teach some ladies card stuff in my home and when they do the splatter thing I feel like I need to cover everything. It is on my walls, my Tiffany Lamp, on the floor, and on anyone sitting at the table. All in good fun I say.

Goodness, this is just gorgeous! I so love that you described the process, I absolutely love the colors and your technique. The shimmer just takes this card right over the top! Love the story about flicking color- too funny! Sandy will love this beautiful card- Thanks for joining in!
