TLC challenge sent me on a scouting mission to find a box of assorted cat eyes and tear drops. Found about a dozen in assorted colors and conditions. Ended up throwing out the cat eyes: packaging was not tight enough to keep the ink preserved. The tear drops were just fine so applied the purple, green and blue to the background. Loaded the Power Poppy stamp with the purple ink in MISTI. Wiped off in the general area of the stem and leaves. Second stamping with just green ink to the bottom of the stamp. Added a few touches of copic to bring out the stem and leaves and a few dots of lavender randomly on the cluster of lilacs.
This card goes out to our Tea Party recipient: Sandy, who like flowers in pink and purple.

Sonja you and I had the same idea regarding colours when doing this technique. I ended up making two panels, and used my other one for my card. Onto your card...it’s gorgeous. I love the flower and the sentiment is a reminder for us all. TFS. Happy day

Beautiful card, Sonya. Your lovely lilac is perfectly paired with your frame. Your crinkled bg gives this a vintagey, Engkish gardeny feel. Your sentiment is also the perfect choice for this fragrant, calming flower. Very thoughtful.

Just breathe is a super sentiment to put with a flower which has such a lovely scent! A couple of evenings when we were out walking we passed a house which had one, and could enjoy the scent. The crinkled background is super with this. Yep, I've slowly been ditching all my cats eyes, but usually because the sponge is crumbling. I had two large rectangular chalk inks, one was too dry for anything, and the other was fine. Weird! Just think, you've made some extra space for yourself ;-).
I like the shabby, vintage look with the distress type background , soft colours and elegant framing.
