Jean has challenged us to try the Crinkled Chalk technique today. I had to dig around to find my roll of Glad Cling Wrap. It's another one of those things that I have only for crafting. I hate plastic wraps so much. I can never get them to stick when I want them to or not stick when I don't want them to. It's much more fun to stamp with than it is to wrap food with. I enjoyed making this background with the chalk inks that I have from when I first started stamping and had no idea how to buy ink. I used the most watermelon-y colors for my background for Misti's Tutti Frutti VSN Mini challenge. The background isn't really my style, but it was fun to try. This Bugaboo digi also isn't really my style, but he was fun to color. I used SC209 for my card and stamped and colored a fun background of watermelon slices. Thanks for two fun challenges, ladies!

Cute image, and I like the texture in the background. But I have to say I think the watermelon panel is my favourite part. There are some lovely Spanish ones in the stores here at the moment.

Hey, Jen...I like how the lil' bits of black splotches give interest to your light chalk bg. The eye can't help but linger there. I'll keep that in mind for next time...I had to darken mine up and way.
