I'm bringing a pot of tea and some sweets for the Tea Party this week. The top of the teapot lifts up with a little message for Melanie. It was really fun to make.
I found the a template online and cut it out by hand. I used Tombow around the edges to join the front and back except for where the top goes. I also put two dimensionals inside on either side of where the insert goes to open up the top a little and give a "track" for the insert. I sponged some brown around the edges of the teapot to go with the vintage vibe and give a little more dimension.

Macarons, oh yum. One of my few culinary fails, and I love them. I really like your colour combination, and love the idea that the teapot lid lifts to reveal an extra message. What a special creation. The brown sponging does add great dimension.
