This card was made for a sketch challenge. I turned the sketch 90-degrees to a landscape sketch.
There isn't any stamping on this card at all. I used the beautiful Stampin' Up! (SU) "Bird Ballad" designer series paper for the birds on the branch and little pink flower at the top. I scanned and cut these out with my digital cutting machine, and did some extra fussy cutting where needed (not much!).
The card base is SU Old Olive, and the main panel is a piece I thought looked like rolling hills from the retired 2010 SU "Sweet Pea" papers. The grayish piece of horizontal paper with clouds is from that same series of paper. I just trimmed it to meet the sketch, and was sure to include clouds to represent the sky.
The birds were backed with adhesive foam tape to raise them off the card surface for an extra feeling of them hanging on a branch up in the air. The required banner was trimmed with a paper trimmer and a notch cut using paper snips. I chose vellum to allow the birds underneath to show thru. At the top of the banner, I glued on a pink flower from the paper, and mounted the vellum banner using another piece of foam tape so that it would lay on top of the birds. I wanted all the extra card elements to be subtle so that the birds remained the centerpiece of the card.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" because SU has a stamp that's very similar with a matching die, so you don't have to use a digital cutting machine. I left the bottom of the card extra roomy so that I could stamp a sentiment on it when I found just the perfect person and occassion to send it.
