Today's tea party is for Melanie who is battling cancer. She is a friend of SCS FayeMakesCards.
Those who know me well will realize what a labor of love this truly was for me . . . .I do NOT DOODLE - it is so far out of my comfort zone that I practically hyperventilate at the thought! But the vision in my head cried out for this type of border . . . .
I decided to start with that aspect in case it didn't pan out for me. I stamped The Heidi Grace corner with DOX ink - so far so good - Took a deep breath, picked up a pink marker and filled in all the edges between the corners with hand drawn hugs & swirls. Finished this with tiny dots all around. (Breath a sigh of relief!) It seems to merge pretty good . . . Stamped the bear on scrap stock, colored with Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut. Adhered with mounting foam and finished with some large Iridescent sequins and the stamped sentiment from the Unity set Warm Inside.
I'll get this in the mail as soon as I get off work today.

You did a fab job with the border and framing, Linda. I'm not a native doodler either, even less when it comes to incorporating writing. It's certainly perfect with your cute bear and patchwork heart.

This is way out of my comfort zone also...I'm not a doodler, I do like to color with colored pencils. The heart looks like a quilt, she will love this card. Thanks for being a part of brightening her days.

This is so sweet Linda and I know Melanie will feel the heart and soul you put into the hugs card for her. I was nodding my head the entire time I was reading about your take on doodling because that is how I feel about doodling too. But, you took a deep breath and you persevered and you made an amazing card with stamping and doodling! Yay! You have inspired me Linda to give this a try now after seeing what a great job you have done. ~Karen.

Oh my goodness, how fabulous is this. Miss Bubbles, I am doodler and there is no way I would attempt to add words, especially with a marker. I hope you do this again and again - I love it. Your bear is super cute too and I love your colouring. I just scrolled back fro another look and I am in awe of your doodling my friend.

Your hand scripted hugs look as good as any pre-fabricated stamp! Better because they came straight from your heart.

Linda, you did a wonderful job with the doodled frame - doodling terrifies me these days, could do it years ago okay! Love the sweet teddy with the big, beautiful heart!
