This tag is for the Teapot Tickle Party, the Free 4 All and also the Colour Challenge.
What fun I had making this. It started a few days ago when I finally decided that I would send a tickle this month to a Teapotter. I was crafting with my mate Gracie at the time and I was showing her my new stamp set. Love these funky ladies. I think I enabled my mate.
I was trying to think how I could use them for the Tickle and make them somehow red, white and blue.
Out came the sparkly Kuretake watercolours and after stamping and trying some things with one of the ladies (Multi...my name for her) and fussy cutting her I decided I was definitely going to use them. Unfortunately the first Multi didn't make it onto this card and she is sitting in my stash for another day.
The next day I get working. Stamped and painted all 3 ladies. Meet Blue, Red and Multi. Added liquid pearls and Nuvo drops on all 3. That's when I spied the leaves and stems in the stamp set. What if?
Stamped and coloured those too. All fussy cut. I was going to use the leaves on their stems but I like wierd so they now have leaf wings LOL.
Whilst they were waiting to dry I started on the BG using dark and light blues and reds. I love TH's wall stencil and rubbed acrylic paints through and then wiped some off with a baby wipe. It was fairly dark blue so I went back in with the stencil after it had dried and rubbed white and light blue paints through wiping off with the baby wipe. Red paint also pushed through a dot stencil.
What next.....this is where quite a bit of finger tapping came in. I had originally intended to do a black/white BG with the ladies popping out but I couldn't find the right papers and felt it might look too sombre so blue was it plus I had seen this week's colour challenge.
I did, however, add some black/white polka dot torn pieces of paper out of my stash and also some of Dina Wakely's black/white circle tissue paper. Clear gesso on the top of them. By this stage it was starting to look pretty funky.
Stamps out and 2 stamps used in various places. By this stage I was loving the tag just as it was and even DH was impressed. White gesso rubbed in areas to lighten it up slightly.
That brings me to today....overall it's taken 3 days to make this LOL...not full days, but you get the gist.
I love using muslin and chip boards on scrapbooks, something I haven't done for a while and whilst lying awake last night I was thinking how I could brighten my tag. Lightbulb moment...add some yellow. That's where I found myself plonking earlier and rolling my muslin in yellow ink. The chipboard was first dabbed with white gesso and then I used my Zig Clean Colour Yellow Marker to go over it in areas. This was also used to add yellow in various places.
Chipboard and muslin added and now for Blue, Red and Multi. Lots of moving around by these girls and finally multi was plonked in the middle. These girls look sad but I think they have style and attitude LOL. They shine that is for sure.
Finally I remembered I had cut out a sentiment to add. Doh! Where was this going to go. It was busy as it was but I like busy. In hindsight I should have added this before Multi got on there but too late so it was plonked on top of her stem. Clear gesso added and finally used my charcoal pencil and wink of stella to finish.
Phew....it sounds a lot of work. It was but gosh I had fun. The back has polka dot patterned paper on it and I will add a tag and message to my Tickle recipient.
TFL and happy weekend
PS: The photo isn't the best but it's so dark and stormy here. I will get a better photo tomorrow
