This is one of a set of 5 cards I made for Online Card Classes' "Spring Card Camp 2." Laurie Willison's lesson on Day 6 inspired the technique & design.
I stamped the "Leaves Background" stamp on a total of 3 panels of colored cardstock, and clear heat embossed. I inked over the yellow with Mustard Seed, and used Mowed Lawn for the green. The leaves ended up being lighter, with the emboss resist technique. I did try inking over the pink with Picked Raspberry, but since the embossing darkened the stamped leaves, it just would have made it basically one solid color. So, other than one little corner, I refrained and just left that panel uninked.
For this card, I cut 3 different size rectangles, one from each colored panel. I lined them up along one long side of a 4x5-1/4" white panel and adhered them in place. I must admit, even though I based this design on one Laurie did as an example, I struggled a bit with what to do at this point. I finally pulled out my "Scripty Hugs" die. I decided, since I wanted to stamp the "sending" in Morning Mist ink, I would die cut the "hugs" from a dark-ish grey cardstock. After playing around with my stamp, die, & panel, I decided to turn the panel vertically, overlap the yellow piece with the "hugs," and nestle the "sending" above it. I finished by adhering my panel to a white card base. In the end, I love how this card came out!
