I made this card for this week's Try A New Technique Challenge. Jean is our hostess and she has a really fabulous technique for us called, "Wreath Stamping." I love to stamp wreaths so this challenge was a must do for me. Fun!
I die cut a 4" square from white card stock, then centered the medium-sized cut, fold & tuck die in the middle of this panel and die cut it. Folded and tucked all the pieces into place. Then, took small stamps from this older Technique Tuesday stamp set that has no name on it, and stamped 2 different flowers and leaves all around the cut wreath, using different inks. This was really fast and easy to do, and fun! Layered this panel over a turquoise blue die cut panel.
Applied Nuvo glimmer paste through a Taylored Expressions Splash stencil to add some sparkle and shine to the lavender layer. I am making this as a birthday card for a friend of mine and the more sparkle and shine, the better. I set the lavender panel aside to dry. Added Peridot gemstones all around the wreath center on the folded sections to add some interest and sparkle.
When the lavender panel has dried, adhered it to a turquoise panel, then adhered it to a lavender card base and the card is completed.
Thank you so much for the wonderful challenge Jean and thank you for looking! ~Karen.

Karen, this is quite beautiful and textural, which is hard to get with this challenge. I don't know about fold/tuck, if you could illuminate me, I'd appreciate it. Your color choices are gorgeous. You always do DD alumni proud. Hope you are well.

Wowsers, my friend. This is like a little quilt square. Gorgeous colors too. Your glimmer paste just adds to the overall loveliness of this card. You have a lucky friend!

It's hard to take my eyes off that beautiful centre piece (which reminds me so much of a kaleidoscope, both with the angular geometry and the gems) to enjoy the wonderful sparkly stencilled layer behind it. I almost feel that if I rotated the card, everything would fall into another shape! What wonderful dies, and what a spectacular card.
