Need to restock my birthday cards. I have only about three right now. So I made two of these cheerful cards. I had this cute mouse image waiting to be used and he worked pretty well with SC206. These colors were tough to match! I wanted a sunshiney background so I used this sweet sunflower image that I just got in a Unity grab bag and stamped it with Golden Meadow (not a great match to the Daffodil Delight). I stamped and die cut the mouse and words and then dug through my scrap drawer looking for good matches for the other colors--decent. The plain paper was too boring, so I stamped a gingham background on one and added a fun strip of washi tape to the other. Then I popped the circles up on the card and decided there wasn't enough yellow. So I grabbed a colored pencil and lightly colored all the flower petals to bring out the Daffodil Delight color. Still needed one more thing, so I added a whole bunch of Stardust Stickles to the heart that the little mouse is holding. Thanks for the fun challenge!
Today is my boy's 7th birthday. I became a mom seven years ago today on Mother's Day. Desmond loved this card that I made him yesterday. His first reaction was "ooh, glittery. Thanks, Mom!" I hid seven little gifts around the house and yard and he and Raleigh had a good time hunting for them this morning. Now he's off to a new place he's never been for a bike ride.

Jen, I love it when you describe your process in making a card. It was clever of you to add the gingham stamp, the washi tape and the colored pencil to elevate this card to something really special! Love it!
