For Lisa's WTUI challenge this week, which you can find HERE.
I used the Hero Arts Mermaid Wave stencil and the Adhesive Resist tutorial. I need a get well type card, so decided to use Speedy instead of a mermaid. He's stamped on watercolour paper, embossed with clear EP and coloured with Inktense for his body and Twinkling H2Os for his shell. The border is die-cut from watercolour paper and coloured with the Prima Confections. The colours in that set work well for a coral reef. I added some Prills, and edged the piece in green Stickles (the colours of ink for sponging are listed above). I added a few sequins, and the sentiment that comes with Speedy. Oh yes, I used the TH sunray stencil and some squeezed lemonade to stencil some light rays coming through - and in this case, I didn't buff the colour off the adhesive. Though it might have come off in the mail by the time this arrives.

Your coral reef and Speedy make an adorable underwater scene, Sabrina...one that will surely uplift the recipient! Your stenciled waves make the perfect background for your scene!

Sabrina, you make the BEST get well cards. Speedy is just perfect for bringing a great big smile to someone's face - he is soooo darned cute! I was surprised to read you used twinkling H2O's on Speedy's shell because that is not something I would have thought to do so thank you for sharing that! Your waves and subtle sunrays create the perfect ocean setting for your wonderful underwater scene. Using prills for sand is something else that is brilliant. This card will certainly bring a lot of cheer to the recipient Sabrina. ~Karen.
