I started with the great quote of David Thoreau about friendship, and built from there. I knew I wanted a bird, so stamped the sweet bird from the same SU "Language of Friendship" stamp set, and colored him by hand with Calypso Coral and gray... sort of a combo of a redwing blackbird and a robin. I punched this out with the matching SU "Bird Builder" Punch and assembled it with two layered glue dots to raise the wing a bit up off the body for dimension.
I then used two dies from the SU "Labels Collection" and cut a window in the Coastal Cabana front panel, as well as a frame for around the window. The panel was then run through my Big Shot using the Cuttlebug "Leafy Branch" embossing folder. I then glued the frame to the window for a more tailored finish.
The bird was then attached to the panel overlapping the die-cut window using glue dots so that I could better plan where I wanted to stamp the sentiment. The sentiment was place a slight bit off center, then three flowers from the SU "Beautiful Bouquet" set were stamped to frame the lower left of the opening. I used multiple stamping with my SU Stamparatus to give the flowers different deepness of the Calypso Coral shades. This panel was then glued to the back of the main panel.
The final step was to glue the completed front panel on the SU Daffodil Delight card base.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" just because of all the steps required. No individual step was hard, but the combination of steps made the card more time consuming.
I have a friend who is recovering from an illness who I think will appreciate receiving this cheerful card.
