Today's MIX Challenge was fun and pretty good for the teacher appreciation card that I wanted to make for Raleigh's teacher. My friend sent me this cute chalkboard card base, so I started with that and I embossed the waving kids in white and then colored them a bit with colored pencils. Then I pulled out some brown and black Distress Paints and painted the wood frame of the chalkboard. After the brown dried, I wiped some white paint over it. I like that it looks like a well used chalkboard that's sort of covered in chalk dust. Then I printed out this sentiment from Tiddly Inks and split it into two pieces and popped it up. School might be out for summer, but we still appreciate our teachers!
