Carla is our hostess for this week's WTUI challenge, which you can find HERE. This one was right up my alley - I could have made cards all week if I had time. I got my other card made over the weekend, but with a day off yesterday, I was also able to sneak this one in. I'm on a mission to use up some of my multitude of gel print backgrounds!
Gel background from stash, using the TH brick wall stencil. Personally, since I mostly make square cards, I prefer bigger stencils - the size of this one dictated the size of the card. I trimmed off round the edge of it, and cut a black base a little larger.
The grass is cut from a book page and covered with DOX inks. Umbrella Man was cut from a scrap of white card and painted black. By a lucky chance, there are a couple of score lines which turned out to be just under the tail of his coat, and where his knees would be. They add just that tiny bit of dimension. I debated the gate (cut from silver card) - DH said yes, definitely. So on my quest for a suitable sentiment that would also yield a card I would be happy to send, I reckoned that this one worked with the gate, and the promise of sunnier days ahead. I printed it using Travelling Typewriter font.

I can think of all sorts of stories for your fabulous scene, Sabrina! The brick wall is done so well, love that fence. Thanks for another marvelous card for the challenge.

So much to see on this card. The brick wall is one of best I’ve seen. Your DH was right about the gate. I like the hint of a book page here and there. Nicely done, Sabrina.

Great card with that spectacular brickwork, Sabrina. A good uplifting message too. (I had that TH die and gave it away....the man always seemed so downtrodden to me)
