Oh the pressure! Susan presented us with such a lovely challenge, I just wanted to make sure I did it justice. I was pretty stumped at first, wanted to knock it out of the park. Not sure that I did that, but this was a lot of fun.
It made so much sense to me to do collage using napkins. I prepared my wc paper background with a lot of different colors, added my cut up napkins with the matte medium and arranged everything. Popped a few things up, punched out some flowers from left over background, added Liquid Pearls, my favorite thing to do lately, added the birch branches, some blue foil and the leaf ribbon. Decided to do my favorite border tangle around the edges. There is a little stamping too, it is similar to the Zentangle.
Thanks Susan for a super challenge. I can't wait to get my hands on that book.

I can just image Mary Delaney standing in front of your work at a gallery and saying, goodness, what mixed media talent! Now why didn’t I think of that! Indeed...I always forget the napkins...
Perfect to make a collage. I love the lil’ wood elements with the blue bird of happiness, the bold poppy, tamed. The posies at the corners, more twining leaf ribbon, and your ‘tangles. Original, bold, and delightful, bfnm. Ya done Mrs. D proud!

Napkins! You are a genius Jean, what a fabulous way to make a "unique to you" creation inspired by Mary Delany. I love this rich and textured collage you have made for a lucky Teapotter.

You did Mary proud....this is lovely..the napkins were a stroke of genius! I love the texture aspect to this and your layering. Great doodling around the edge. You succeeded in knocking it out of the park.

I noticed the texture of the "paper" right away and wondered what it was- napkins! Perfect for absorbing the deep colors. Lovely collage.
