Made for the Teapot challenge MMTPT614 with the amazing flower art of Mary Delany as inspiration. She is sometimes considered the first mixed media artist so I tried to mix as many media as I could.
My media: Cardstock, water color paper, ink, chalks, and brushos.
Does anyone remember back to the days before we all had dies and die cut machines? Back when we did "paper piecing" and hand cut everything? It sure does take time, but I find it relaxing. The pattern for these flowers was from a Bumper Crops kit that I bought way back in 2000 at a scrapbooking event in Minneapolis, MN. Always fun to pull those old things out from black hole of craft trends.

I love it! And tis true about the 'ancient' history in our craft. Thanks for bringing that to the gallery today. Your background is lovely in those WC powders. The flowers (they remind me of impatiens) so cheery and random with the fussy cutting. Mrs D would definitely agree with you, Beth, to enjoy life!

What fun! It's always great to go down memory lane and bring back the old craft techniques and stamps! Gorgeous colors on your background, too! Beautiful card.

Personally I still really enjoy fussy-cutting, not least because it means no white halo. Your pots (which are lovely) full of bright, sunny flowers will certainly cheer someone's day. I love the background sponging, too.

I love fussy cutting and creating 3D with several layers, I love your flower pots they look really great filled with these fun flowers!! Before I came to SCS I only made 3d and embroidering on my cards I didn't stamp a lot, but now I've learned so many techniques here that I need to make a choice when I make a card, thank you for bringing up nice memories!!

Your cut-out flowers look fabulous! Love the pots! And I love to do fussy cutting..started as a teeny one with paper dolls.

That brushos bg is fabulous - I keep telling myself I DON'T need another medium but every time I see them on a card my heart longs to own them, too . . . . . Love your pots full of whimsical blooms and the multiple layers for dimension.
