This is for today's sketch and yesterday's teaparty for Teri. Teri's late husband loved pirates and we were supposed to do something with that or treasure or the like. She also likes tye dye. Had no pirates so I found a sentiment about treasure.
I used a new to me technique for the background. Basically it's using Yupo paper like a gel plate. I put a yellow alcohol Pearl ink on the Yupo along with some blending solution and used a felted ink applicator to create a base. Used a variety of ai on top, creating small dots, used the applicator with some blending solution and also a paint brush to keep the dots small. When I was happy, I brayered a layer of the lift ink and put the white card on top and pressed. It gives sort of an impressionistic look and you can get 3 or 4 prints, each time applying the lift ink. They get progressively lighter but still pretty. I used a first print for the base and a lighter print for the cross piece and the two flowers. The lemon burst ep adds a nice subtle glow to the cross piece, the flowers and the edges of the oval. Maybe this card is a little too pretty for Teri but I liked the treasure idea and wanted to use one of my new backgrounds. I did about 10-12. As always, one never knows what one gets with ai. If you're interested in the technique, look up Lavinia Stamps on YouTube.

I'm glad you made this card for Teri, I was thinking about the fact when we all make the same theme cards, the recipient must be glad to have also something different!! I love the pretty background and the embellishments

I need to read your description again when I am less tired. It sounds fascinating and gave a beautiful result. I'm still struggling with LiftInk, I don't think I've uploaded anything I've done with it yet. I think this is really beautiful. The copper thread is a lovely addition.

Fantastic creation and I think the fresh and pretty will be very welcomed to Teri's collection and "treasured". Thanks so much for the Lavinia Stamp Video lead. New to me and is right down my experimental alley.
