I love the Stampin' Up! (SU) "Beautiful Bouquet" stamp set and its matching die set. The hardest part was choosing the color pallette. One of my favorite pattern papers from SU is " Botanical Garden". While I didn't use the paper for this card, I used the colors it features.
I stamped all my flowers on white cardstock, then cut them out with their matching dies. I arranged them around the die-cut oval from the SU "Stitched Shapes" die set. To make the stitching even more apparent, I ran the die and die cut thru my Big Shot a second time using my rubber embossing mat.
Since I used the largest die in the stitched set, I need a slightly larger oval as the mat. I created it by scanning the oval using my Brother ScanNCut, then added a 0.08 border around it and cut this largest oval out of SU Cajun Craze cardstock.
The sentiment from the same stamp set as the flowers is stamped with black ink.
The card background was created per AHSC's sketch as four horizontal bands. I tried several different pattern papers before deciding they were just too busy with all the flowers around the oval, so went with the four basic colors I used for the flowers. I glued these 1.25" strips to a white background, then ran them thru my Big Shot using the Sizzix embossing folder call "Petal Burst". This created a subtle background texture/pattern without overwhelming the flowers.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". I spent 85% of the time trying to come up with colors and patterns, so if you have those in hand, doing the actual card assembly is easy!
