I loved the filigree pattern in their sketch, and right away knew I wanted to include some specialty paper I hadn't used much. It's a Stampin' Up! (SU) specialty laser-cut paper that's pink on one side and white on the other. I knew I had some other Designer Series Paper (DSP) that used the same pink that I thought would go really well with the idea I had.
So using my "Stitched Nested Labels" dies I first die cut, then used the embossing pad to run the paper back through the Big Shot to emboss the lovely stitching around the edge of the diecut. I centered it so the heart-shaped constellation would be at the top and visible when I attached the sentiment.
The sentiment is from the retired "Dragonfly Dreams" stamp set. I stamped it in purple onto a scrap of white cardstock, then used the straight linear embossing die from the same die set I used earlier, and embossed both above and below the stamped sentiment. I then used my paper trimmer to cut close to the embossing and trim the ends. The sentiment was glued onto the pink diecut, and I used 4 layers of glue dots to attach the right side so it was level with the layered pink element.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". The filigree piece was a challenge to glue down on the purple backing, but not to frustrating :-) All the die cutting and embossing was super simple.
