I had a lovely time making this, carrying on just as I pleased, then got it all made, and only then did I read the challenge instructions and realized I didn't do quite what Ann wanted. I just made a plain old inchies card, with different stamps, rather than using one stamp and cutting it up but keeping the image together. But I'm hoping I can get away with posting this one for the challenge as I may not have time to make one the way the challenge says!!!
Here's what I did. I made two backgrounds with Magicals (one in purples, one in fuschia/burgundy tones) by sprinkling the colours on watercolour paper, spritzing with water, and letting dry.
Then I stamped each one with a different background stamp - the purple one with positive flowers, the fuschia/burgundy one with negative flowers - and heat embossed in white.
I took a 1" square die and cut three inchies out of each piece (selecting the flowers I liked best). I spaced them out on white cs, bordered with dark purple, and added a sentiment.
