CT=Rise up, Eyes up - I love to look up and see butterflies flitting in the sky.
Made the bg with DOX inks - put some color on a large acrylic Block -Spritzed with water then tapped my cardstock here & there to pick up some of the color & spatter. Dried then continued adding color this way until my panel was fairly well covered. this was then dry embossed with butterflies & swirls.
I dug through my reject box to see if I could find something to cut another butterfly from. I found a truly ugly stenciled piece done in Cherry cobbler, Eggplant & Night of Navy I added a wash with Twinkling H2O's in French Lilac and Ginger Flower an I am seeing possibilities in this now. Once dry I die cut a large TH butterfly, mounted it onto my bg, wings lifted in flight and enhanced with gems on the body. Finished with the sentiment (received in a Teapot Tickle) I die cut this with a rounded square, adhered with mounting foam and finished with a scattering of iridescent sequins for extra sparkle & shine.

I just had to sit and gaze at this metamorphosis. What a lovely background for that rejected panel into the butterfly. Love the serenity this card evokes, Linda!

That swirly bg is very pretty...the colors are soft, not overdone and it works so well for your transformed butterfly...I had to laugh at your description that it started out as an ugly stenciled piece...lol Beautiful card!
