I have had the "Love and Kindness" stamp set almost since it came out several months ago, and have never gotten any of the stamps inky. I couldn't remember if hibiscus flowers come in white, so I googled. Turns out, they do, and have bold red centers & stamens! So I decided Lee's challenge was the perfect time to ink up the hibiscus & leaf images in that set.
Because I wanted to add color to the flower centers with a water-based marker and didn't want it soaking into the paper immediately, I decided to go with smooth bristol paper. I first die cut 2 circles, as per the sketch I used, then stamped my flowers with Versamark ink. I heat embossed with white powder. To make the flowers show up, I inked both circles with Spun Sugar Distress ink. I stamped the stamens with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide ink, & used a hot pink marker to color the flower centers. I used a white gel pen to accent the ends of the stamens.
For the background, I used one of the leaf stamps. I cut a panel of mint green cardstock, and stamped the image with Green Hills.
I die cut a circle from a patterned paper that was in my scrap stash. (Yay for using up scraps!) I arranged the circles on my background, and glued them in place with liquid glue. I matted the panel with pale pink cardstock, trimming it to a 1/16" mat. Finally, I adhered it to a white card base. I ended up with over 23 minutes to spare on my 1 hour limit!
