This is for Melody's "FLORA" word challenge. I must admit, I struggled a bit to come up with elements to fulfill the requirements! But in the end, I used Floral patterned paper, Line art stamp, Oval dies, Rickrack, & Alcohol inks.
I first stamped my flower on the craft plastic film with Memento Angel Pink ink. I wanted a light color that wouldn't show through the alcohol inks, but would give me a guide as to where to position my oval die. As it turns out, the ink wiped right off the paper after I die cut, so it really wouldn't have mattered what color I used! I positioned my smaller die, and cut out my oval. I also went ahead & die cut a white cardstock mat with the next larger die in the set.
I added alcohol inks to my main oval, using my 91% alcohol in a spray bottle to help move & lighten the colors. I dried it periodically with my heat gun. The good thing about this plastic film is that, unlike Yupo paper, it doesn't warp easily when applying heat. Once the background looked good, I dried it once more.
I added lots of powder with my powder bag, and stamped the frangipani image with Versamark. Because this is a cling stamp, I used my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to help with placement. It actually took me 3 tries to get it right! Thankfully, I didn't have to start over with the background completely. Finally, I heat embossed it with Liquid Platinum, then set that aside.
I cut my patterned paper to 5-1/4x4", and adhered it to a mint green mat. I stamped my greeting (from "Mondo Hydrangea") on a scrap of white cardstock, heat embossed it, & cut it into a strip. I adhered that to my card front. I used liquid glue to glue on 2 lengths of narrow rickrack, above & below the greeting strip. Finally, I matted my oval, adhered it to my card front. & mounted the panel to a white card base.

I'm so glad you persevered. The oval floral element is gorgeous and I like the rick rack trim. Thank you so much for playing in my VSN word play challenge.

Fabulous card! Love the background paper, and how you pulled the colors out to create that lovely central image! Thanks for giving all the details on how you did it.
